Contrast naturally appears in our lives, pulling us in the opposite direction of where we thought we were headed. When contrast appears, we can get stuck in what we don’t want. During her corporate career, Carmen traveled the world leading international IT projects. This included developing, testing, training, and deploying global solutions with large, international teams.
Today, as Carmen follows her passion for coaching and speaking, she helps leaders cultivate an environment for transparency, collaboration and empowerment, so they can create empowered, energized and exceptional employees & teams.

Three years ago, when I was in what I consider now to be rock bottom, you had me do a visualization exercise of what I would consider “Being Happy.” The image in my head that you helped me paint through your coaching has come to fruition. The more I think about it, the more I re-created that, and I didn’t even realize it.
I would’ve never imagined that I would have been able to rebuild my life in three years, but I have, thanks in large part to your wisdom. So, thank you and now I’d like to see what’s next.
Coaching matters.
This statement is true whether we are speaking about sports teams, work teams, or simply ourselves (teams of one). The best among us – players, workers, students, whomever – will inevitably face challenges that call for the steady hand and sage advice of a capable coach. It may be a career arc bending toward a suboptimal direction, or a series of events leading to a critical milestone for which we could truly benefit from an objective perspective.

I first observed Carmen in her role as educator during a PMI Phoenix Chapter Evening Event. She was presenting a learning module entitled “Interview with Confidence,” engaging with a large audience in a series of thought exercises focused on building skills for one-to-one interviewing.
Reaching out to Carmen several months later, I asked for her guidance in addressing a set of specific career situations. She asked insightful questions, provided reassurance that the issues were solvable, and developed a customized program over several weeks to help create a strategy and meet the challenges. The results were, in a word, transformational!
Coaching matters. Carmen matters.
I had the opportunity to meet with Carmen to talk over some areas that I wanted transformed in my life. She was fabulous!
Carmen helped me to see how I was allowing past emotions and experiences dictate who I am today. Together we put down words that described these feelings, and she helped me see the power I had been giving them. Carmen then reminded me that I get to choose who I am today, how I want to feel, and how I want to show up in all aspects of my life.
It was a very powerful, transformative time with Carmen. At the end of which, I left knowing that I am an amazing, powerful, gracious person, ready to live the life I design. The past no longer dictates who I am, nor how I choose to live my life.
Thanks to Carmen, I don’t have to waste another day living with all of those limiting beliefs, but instead I get to live my life to the fullest! I will forever be grateful!

Thank you, again, for your time and your talk! It was extremely well received and enjoyed by all. I will say that it definitely resonated and hit home very strongly for some of our employees. The overall, albeit generic, feedback from most was that they loved what you had to say with regards to leading from the heart & how it makes them want to be a more empathetic manager versus disciplinarian. There are a couple of people that the message has not resonated with quite as impactfully as I would have hoped, but I was absolutely shocked when Victoria’s father, Joe, was speaking after lunch to the group and he referenced things you said a number of times. Joe is a very “old school” mind and was a fanatic disciplinarian when he was involved in the day to day operations. To witness your message striking him and for it to stick, that says a lot.
I did solicit feedback from the group in score & written form on a sheet handed out at the end. Because some people had to trickle out a little earlier than our end time, I received 13 responses, five of which mentioned you by name as one of the “2-3 things that you (they) liked most about the meeting”.
Carmen, I wanted to give you an update – literally right after your Zoom call on interviewing strategies, I got called into an interview for an exciting role. All of the tools and resources you provided helped SO MUCH. I was able to ace the interview and fast forward to this afternoon….. they just offered me the job!!! It feels like serendipitous timing, and I want to thank you for providing such a great resource to the community. It had a huge impact for me and I’m so thankful!
